I don’t even know where to
start this review, all I can say is that this book is truly unforgettable!!!
It’s all based on the true
story of Alice Martineau, a singer looking for a record deal. She is different
however, she has cystic fibrosis (CF), which makes life really hard. You can
also see that in Alice in the book. She is a great character, very
inspirational and full of life. CF is not visible from the outside, which makes
it really hard for her.
CF is part of Alice’s life,
but is strong and wants to life. She has a dream, fights for it and is ready to
achieve it. On the way she has her family and friends and love plays an
important role as well. Some other characters have a story to tell as well,
which was really refreshing. Alice Peterson managed to create a great storyline
around them all.
This story has so many great
elements, but I don’t want to give away to much, you have to read it yourself.
You will be wowed.
Alice Peterson put a lot
into this book, she based it all on a true story, added her own experiences and
combined it all into spellbinding, inspirational, uplifting and heart-breaking
story. The way she included a difficult topic like this in a story is very
impressive. Make sure you have some tissues close by, because you definitely
need them. Alice Peterson’s writing is touching, moving and very emotional. Already a definite contender for my Books of the Year!
